Katie Banks and Jane Adam believe that people can change, grow and develop to lead more fulfilling lives. They believe that through counselling and psychotherapy people can become aware of patterns of behaviour that prevent them from achieving happiness in life. They provide a safe environment in which people are able to explore their past and come to a greater understanding of the reasons behind their behaviour in the present. By looking at themselves they are able to change their interactions with others and are able to achieve greater fulfilment.

Katie Banks has come to practising psychotherapy after following her own personal journey of self-awareness. She has an honours degree in law, has worked in the civil service, in legal personnel, as a tour guide in the south of France and ran a successful guest house in the Borders before training in psychotherapy. She is married with one son and lives in East Lothian.

Jane Adam Jane has 12 years experience in the field of general health, physical fitness, overeating and stress management whilst working as a fully qualified personal trainer. She was also an NLP practitioner before training in psychotherapy and now specialising in obesity and weight issues. She lives in Edinburgh where she manages to combine her life as a mother of two children and still manages to maintain a healthy work life balance. She has a passion for fitness and the outdoors and a huge zest for life.

Katie Banks and Jane Adam both hold Certificates in Transactional Analysis Counselling Theory and Skills. They subscribe to the Code of Ethics of the Institute of Transactional Analysis, which is a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. They are both committed to ongoing personal development and training. Both are currently working towards their Masters degree in this area of psychotherapy.
