About me

I have been a practising psychotherapist for over 10 years. I believe that people can change, grow and develop to lead more fulfilling lives. Through counselling and psychotherapy people can become aware of patterns of behaviour that prevent them from achieving happiness in life.

I provide a safe environment in which people are able to explore their past and come to a greater understanding of the reasons behind their behaviour in the present. By looking at themselves they are able to change their interactions with others and are able to achieve greater fulfilment.

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) and PTSTA. I have a diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling and hold a masters degree in psychotherapy (MSc) and have come to practising psychotherapy after following my own journey of personal development. I hold a degree in law, have worked in the civil service, in legal personnel, as a tour guide in the south of France and ran a guest house in the Borders for several years before training as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

I live with my family in East Lothian. I am experienced in working with a broad range of issues including, amongst others: depression, anxiety, panic, stress, relationship issues, life changes, low self-esteem, grief and loss.

Clients are offered a safe, confidential space within which to work on a short or long-term basis dependent on their individual needs.

I run a private practice both in Brunswick Road, Edinburgh and near North Berwick in East Lothian.

I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and EATA (European Association for Transactional Analysis) and I hold professional indemnity insurance for the work I do. I am a PVG Scheme member in respect of work with adults, through Disclosure Scotland. I am listed on the network of BUPA recognised therapists.
